Forcepoint is seeking a motivated Principal Technical Writer to join its User Assistance team in the office in San Diego, CA.  The Principal Writer is responsible for the development of technical publications in alignment with the Forcepoint Business Unit’s goals and roadmap. A Principal Writer contributes significantly to the technical knowledgebase available to Forcepoint customers, partners, and employees through a variety of technical materials, including large projects that span multiple products. 



The Principal Writer will design, write, and create clear and concise content for technical publications that meet quality standards and/or instructional objectives with proper usage of brand, voice and style. Candidate must have experience in authoring and editing content for publications including end-user manuals and server administrator manuals. Candidate must have the ability to evaluate content in relation to the project objectives and provide recommendations for improvement. The Principal Writer will prioritize to meet deadlines, manage expectations and dependencies, and manage multiple projects. 



The ideal candidate must have extensive experience documenting procedural instructions that support business processes and systems. Candidate must be dedicated to adding value and understand the connection between product content, customer experience, and business success. Candidate must be comfortable working across the business with software development, quality engineers and product managers to produce clear and well-written publications. 



The position relies on effective engagement with many groups and operating cross-functionally in an Agile development environment. It requires strong organizational skills and excellent time management. Candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and independently manage multiple projects from concept to publication under tight deadlines and changing conditions while also functioning as a collaborative team member.
